Short answer

What do postpaid mobile plans cost in the UAE? Through an authorized e& dealer the range runs from AED 188 a month at the entry tier to AED 1,250 a month at the top. There are 22 plans in total. Everything below AED 300 is speed capped data with a minute bundle. AED 300 and above is where the data cap disappears. Every plan on this page is postpaid, billed monthly, not prepaid.

Most plan pages give you the three plans someone wants to sell you. This one lists all 22 in price order so you can see the actual shape of the market before you commit to twelve months of anything. Prices are the authorized dealer price, monthly, before 5 percent VAT.

Band 1: AED 188 to AED 263, capped speed with non-stop data

These plans never run out of data. They cap how fast it moves instead. That is a better trade than a GB allowance for most people, because you cannot get a surprise bill from it.

New Freedom 375 FlexiAED 263AED 375Up to 50 Mbps1,100 flexi5 GB

The jump from AED 188 to AED 263 buys speed, not volume. Data is non-stop on all four Freedom tiers. What changes is 3 Mbps against 50 Mbps, and roaming data from 200 MB to 5 GB. If you are on wifi at home and at the office, the AED 188 tier is usually enough. If you tether a laptop or travel every few weeks, the AED 263 tier earns its extra AED 75.

The two New Freedom 260 plans at AED 195 sit slightly apart. They swap non-stop data for a 20 GB allowance and give you more minutes. The Flexi version adds unlimited international calling to one preferred number, which is the cheapest way on this list to keep one line abroad open.

Band 2: AED 300 to AED 360, uncapped data

PlanMonthlyList priceDataMinutesRoaming data

Unlimited 1 Country 325AED 325AED 32527 GB700 flexi plus unlimited to one countryPay as you go
Unlimited Calls 600 FlexiAED 360AED 60050 GBUnlimited flexi2 GB

AED 300 is the single most important line on this page. Below it your data has a speed cap. At AED 300 the cap comes off and you get 10 GB of roaming on top. For anyone who works off a phone hotspot, the AED 112 step up from AED 188 is the best value move in the whole catalogue.

The Unlimited 1 Country plan at AED 325 does something none of the others do: it makes calls to one nominated country unlimited. If your phone bill is really an international calling bill, compare that against what you currently spend on flexi minutes before you look at anything else.

Band 3: AED 500 to AED 600, unlimited plus a better number

Local Data & Calls 1200 FlexiAED 600AED 1,200Unlimited at max speedUnlimited flexiSilver

Two things happen in this band. The number tier included with the line moves from Silver to Gold, and on the AED 600 plan the minutes go unlimited for international as well as local. That AED 600 plan is the only one in the catalogue where you stop counting anything: data, local minutes and international flexi minutes are all uncapped, with 40 GB of Roam Like Home on top.

Band 4: AED 1,000 and AED 1,250, top tier

Freedom Live 1250 FlexiAED 1,250Unlimited at max speed6,000 flexi40 GB Roam Like HomeSilver

Be honest about why you would take one of these. On raw allowances the AED 600 plan already gives you unlimited everything. The AED 1,000 Platinum tier is bought for the Platinum number that comes with it, not for the megabytes. If the number is not the point, stop at AED 600.

Local minutes or flexi minutes, the choice people get wrong

Nearly every plan above comes in two versions and the only difference is the minute bundle.

The rule of thumb: if you call home more than about twice a week, take Flexi and accept the smaller bundle. If your calls are all UAE numbers, take Local and get double the minutes for the same money. Getting this wrong is the most common reason a UAE postpaid bill comes in higher than expected, because out of bundle international minutes are charged per minute.

What is not in the advertised price

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest postpaid mobile plan in the UAE?

AED 188 a month before VAT, which is Freedom Plan 250 at the authorized dealer price against a list price of AED 250. It includes non-stop data at up to 3 Mbps, 1,000 local minutes and a free Silver number. With 5 percent VAT the bill is AED 197.40.

How many Etisalat postpaid plans are there?

22 in the current catalogue, spread across three families: Freedom Non-Stop Data, Freedom Unlimited Data, and Freedom Unlimited Calling. Most exist in a Local and a Flexi version, which differ only in the minute bundle.

What is the difference between Local and Flexi minutes?

Local minutes work only for UAE numbers and you get more of them. Flexi minutes work for both UAE and international calls and you get fewer. On Plan 250 it is 1,000 local against 500 flexi for the same AED 188.

At what price does the data cap come off?

AED 300. Everything from AED 188 to AED 263 gives you non-stop data at a capped speed, from 3 Mbps up to 50 Mbps. The Unlimited Data 500 plan at AED 300 is the first tier with data at maximum speed and no cap, and it adds 10 GB of roaming.

Is a postpaid plan in the UAE a monthly charge or a one time payment?

Monthly. Every plan listed is postpaid, meaning you use the service and are billed at the end of each cycle. There is no one time purchase version of these plans.

Is there a contract, and how long?

Postpaid plans normally carry a 12 month commitment. If you end it early, e& applies an exit charge equal to one month of the plan or AED 1,000, whichever is lower. Confirm the exact terms for your plan before signing.

Do I have to pay extra for the premium number?

No. The number tier shown against each plan is included. Plans up to AED 360 include a Silver number, the AED 500 Gold plans include a Gold number, and the AED 1,000 Platinum plans include a Platinum number. You can pay separately for a specific number outside your tier if you want one.

Can I get a postpaid plan without visiting a store?

Yes. Send your documents on WhatsApp, choose a number, and the SIM is delivered to you with card payment on delivery. Same day across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah for orders before 4 PM.
